Thank you for your interest in Stand With Ukraine Through Film.
We launched our project in March 2022, soon after Russian tanks began to roll toward Ukrainian cities. We initially arranged for the screening of The Guide at cinemas in the United States and other countries as a way to demonstrate support for the Ukrainian people, educate the public, and raise funds for humanitarian relief. Almost 700 cinemas joined this effort. The US cinema screenings led to more than $125,000 being donated on behalf of the Ukrainian people, a sum that does not include the funds donated at cinemas in other countries.
In 2023, the project expanded to include screenings of The Guide at colleges and universities in the U.S. and other countries.
If you are a cinema or a school program, please contact us if you wish to host a screening of The Guide. If you simply wish to donate in support of the Ukrainian people, please click the Donate button below. You may also mail a check, as explained below.
We operate in partnership with numerous organizations which are donating their services. The lead organization is Cinema Salem in Salem MA which began this project in 2022.
Human & Civil Rights Organizations of America, Inc. (HCROA), is helping manage donations and ensuring they reach organizations working effectively in Ukraine and countries supporting Ukrainian refugees.

Donations (except for PayPal or credit card transaction fees) will be used to support Ukraine through humanitarian relief and public education. Grants are being awarded to international humanitarian organizations and smaller Ukrainian-American organizations with advice from Ukrainians in Kyiv and elsewhere, Ukrainian scholars in the US, and others. We are also supporting Ukrainians in that nation's film industry.
We publish a full list of groups that receive funds including the amounts awarded. The current list can be found here.
